Smoked Turkey Chili - A Firehouse Crowd Pleaser

Look no further than this protein-packed smoked turkey chili recipe!


  • 1 lb smoked turkey, diced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and minced
  • 2 15-oz cans no-salt-added beans (kidney, black or pinto) drained and rinsed
  • 28 oz can no salt added crushed tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1⁄4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 4 cups low sodium chicken broth

  1. In a large soup pot, cook onion, garlic, bell pepper and jalapeno until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add turkey and spices. Cook 2 minutes more.
  3. Mix in beans, tomatoes, and broth. Simmer 20 minutes.
  4. Serve topped with avocado, cilantro or green onion (avoid heavy toppings like cheese, sour cream).
